Due to the coronavirus outbreak, we are experiencing higher than normal demand for personal protective equipment (PPE) and other critical related products. Many of these items are currently on manufacturer allocation. As a result, product availability is extremely volatile and inventory is being closely monitored and restricted to best meet the needs of our customers. Please contact your Concordance Account Manager for specific inventory questions. Due to the high demand for PPE and other COVID-19 related products, all PPE and COVID-19 related items sold will be considered outside of normal business and not eligible for return. All PPE and COVID-19 related items are final sale and non-returnable.

Concordance 2018 Year in Review

This time of year, everyone talks about what's in store for the new year. In order to continue forward, it's also important to look back. Knowing where you're coming from helps focus attention on new goals for the new year.

2018 was another incredible year for Concordance, filled with a lot of heavy lifting and an increase in top line revenue outpacing the industry with over 10 percent growth in sales from every market including hospital, medical and government.

Internal Transformation

In March we converted the legacy MMS organization to the VAi platform. For the first time as Concordance, we were all operating under one umbrella. As with any IT change, it came with a fair amount of challenges, a ton of training, lots of communication and a commitment to create a best in class platform for all. We would not have been able to successfully implement this change without every employee being committed and dedicated to its success.

Concordance announced the retirements of Co-CEO/Presidents Roger Benz and Tom Harris in early April. Benz's retirement was finalized at the end of December, with Harris following later this year. The following leadership promotions are effective as of yesterday, January 1, 2019:

  • Lisa Hohman – Chief Executive Officer (CEO)
  • Dave Myers – President and Chief Operations Officer (COO)
  • Jaysen Stevenson – President - Government Division

Relationship Building

In April of 2018, Concordance held its third annual Corporate Sales Meeting, which has since been renamed "Contribute." This event focused on building relationships by bringing key suppliers together with members of the Concordance team. As suppliers and distributors work together to provide the right product, to the right patient, at the right time, they help healthcare providers deliver exceptional patient care.

At this event, suppliers spent dedicated time with Concordance sales professionals demonstrating products, discussing issues, providing a better sense of the products and imparting key insights to pass on to the end user. In addition to these relationship building efforts, Concordance also fortified internal communications with training sessions designed to bring all departments together. Concordance also partnered with the Water Works Program for a team building activity to provide clean drinking water for communities in need.

Here We Grew

Last year included a great deal of growth for Concordance, as we moved into new geographies expanding our company footprint further west and south. We began the year in the midst of starting our first new distribution center (DC) under Concordance in Nampa, Idaho. We had so many great employees dedicate time and energy into the success of Nampa, and place us on the national scale as a true force to be reckoned with. We were actively creating our brand in the marketplace; a true non-vertical distribution model focused on service and quality products. We created a keen understanding that our mission was to assist our customers in providing the best care and improving the outcomes for the patient while reducing the overall cost of care.

In July we opened our second new Concordance distribution center in Riverside, California. Learning from our experience in Nampa, we were able to provide top level service upon opening. Our flagship customer, Loma Linda, has expressed their deep gratitude to our commitment to exceptional service and being a true partner in patient care.

On the heels of opening Riverside in July, we opened a new facility in Grand Prairie, Texas, in September to service our growing long term care and additional alternate site business. This new DC continues to be a new focus growth area for the organization.

In addition to growing outwards, we also focused on internal growth by starting a pilot program, hiring individuals with disabilities to work within our organization. The pilot was a huge success and we are in the midst of expanding the pilot into other Concordance locations. This program is a prime example of what makes Concordance truly special. We want to make meaningful positive impact in the communities we serve.

2018 In Review

Currently, Concordance operates 20 distribution centers throughout the United States. Through these locations, we're able to provide supply chain services to the entire continuum of healthcare including health systems and hospitals, long term care facilities, home care and hospice agencies, government, ambulatory surgery centers, primary care physicians and community health centers.

When asked to reflect on 2018, Concordance Healthcare Solutions Chief Executive Officer, Lisa Hohman, said “As 2018 comes to an end and we look to 2019, it is critically important that we take a brief moment to reflect on all that we have accomplished.“

Hohman continues, “Opening three new facilities in 10 months, expanding services, integrating our IT platform, all while maintaining a keen eye on servicing our existing and new customers was no small feat. We consistently score at the very top from our VA customer scorecard and are regarded by the supplier community as the only trusted channel in the marketplace. This is only possible because of our amazing employees. They are smart, they work hard and, maybe most importantly, they truly care about our customers and understand the critical role we play in ensuring all care givers have the products they need to provide outstanding patient care and we are eternally grateful for their dedication.”

Concordance Healthcare Solutions continues to focus on being a partner that provides efficient and customized supply chain solutions. Contact us to learn more about how we can help you be successful this year.
