The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) reports that the rate of nonfatal injury and illness for healthcare workers is among the highest of any industry. That averages to almost 4 out of every 100 full-time health or social workers reporting an injury in 2019. In general, medical and surgical hospitals, the number jumps to 5.5 workers per 100 full-time employees.
