Concordance Voices: Serving Our Veterans

Concordance is dedicated to serving our nation's Veteran community. We work to simplify our customers' supply chain while delivering the medical supplies that fit individual formularies. We do this by providing unparalleled support for the logistics, contracts and processes behind the quality brand products we deliver, so that our customers can focus on providing quality care.

Concordance works directly with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) logistics management and leadership teams to understand the complexities of their unique supply chain process. Together, we collaborate to develop and implement innovative, dynamic, cost-saving programs and solutions that uniquely benefits each individual organization. Our team of experienced professionals delivers ongoing, measurable improvements to bring harmony to every level of the supply chain. We are proud to partner with Veteran and minority-classified companies to help government entities attain established set-aside programs and goals.

Concordance has been a VA Medical/Surgical Prime Vendor (MSPV) for 14 years and has passed all VA Contractor Performance Assessment Reporting System (CPARS) reviews with solid performance. The latest Concordance CPARS evaluation was exceptional. The Concordance VA program has a dedicated team of management, account managers, customer service, sales support and contracts that work on the government side to make the VA business a focus customer. The Concordance VA team is currently working with the Strategic Acquisition Center (SAC) to add 30,000 formulary items through a Justification & Approval process. The Concordance regional formulary has increased from 7,500 items to over 21,000 items in the last three months. We're committed to helping the VA add items to the formulary because it improves efficiencies in the MSPV ordering process.

In addition to working on behalf of Veterans, we're also dedicated to our Veteran employees. With over 50 Veterans on staff, Concordance is proud to provide employment for those who have served this country. We sat down with Veteran members of our team to discuss what being a Veteran means to them and also what it means to be a Concordance team member. Check out what they had to say below:

Marine Corps Cpl. Chris Arnold – Concordance Shipping Supervisor & Safety Coordinator
"I served in our nation's Marine Corps from 1988–1993, in operations Desert Shield & Desert Storm. I’m pleased to be working for a company that takes pride in providing quality service to fellow Veterans."

Marine Corps Cpl. Clarence Bailey – Concordance Checker Team Lead
"I served on Battleship Marine Detachment from 1985-1988. I've been working for Concordance for 10 years and I think it's a great company. I've served as our Warehouse Shipping Team Leader for five years and I love working for a company that serves Veterans."

Army Staff Sgt. Chris Best – Concordance Support Specialist
"I have been with Concordance since 2001, so they supported me through all 15 years of my service. I don’t know how Concordance could have been any more supportive through the years, I was gone more than I was home. My job was always waiting for me when I got back. Before my last deployment, they even had a huge BBQ and party to see me off."

Navy Petty Officer 2nd Class Sandy Gonzales – Concordance Customer Service Supervisor
"I served in the U.S. Navy for three-and-a-half years followed by two-and-half years of service in the United States Navy Reserve. After completing two schools, I was stationed in Diego Garcia, British Indian Ocean Territory (BIOT) and Guam. Serving my country was an honor and a privilege."

Navy Petty Officer 3rd Class Jeff Lawing – Concordance Vice President, National and Strategic Accounts
"My career began in the U.S. Navy where I served as a hospital corpsman during Desert Storm. My service was a time filled with moments of sacrifice, learning, maturation, doubt, fun and unique cultural experiences. I am grateful for the lifelong friendships I formed. Upon discharge, I began working in supply chain while completing my degree in nursing. After obtaining my RN license, I held roles as a staff nurse and nurse manager of a surgery unit. I began working for Concordance in 2011. It is an honor to continue serving our great country by working for a company that is focused on improving the patient experience and the health of our population while operating with the highest level of trust, integrity, commitment and service."

Army Spc. James A. Jones – Concordance Warehouse Manager
"Having the opportunity to serve in the Armed Forces is a privilege like no other. I'm new to Concordance and I greatly appreciate the love and support the company has for Veterans."

Air Force Staff Sgt. Chanta Quillen – Concordance VA On-Site Representative
Representing Concordance on-site at the VA hospital gives me the opportunity to foster harmony and unity between the two organizations. I recognize the value of teamwork and the importance of esprit de corps. As an Air Force Veteran, the VA customers have a level of trust that allows me to become part of their team. I'm proud to work alongside fellow Veterans to ensure the best care possible is provided to those who have served our nation."

Army Staff Sgt. William Raypuckett – Concordance Warehouse Checker
"I served my country in Iraq, 2003-2004, and in Qatar, 2010-2011. Concordance Healthcare Solutions is the best fit for me, career wise. They didn't just give me a job, they gave me an opportunity to further my knowledge, both in the field and in the military. I am so thankful for Concordance."

Air Force Senior Airman Michael Runion – Concordance Government CS Rep
"I'm brand new to Concordance! While serving with combat search and rescue, we had a slogan we always used when at home or abroad…'These things we do, that others may live.' That quote has stuck with me from the very beginning of my military tenure to now, being a Veteran. It’s a powerful quote that I feel would be a perfect summation of my service commitment, whether it be to this company, my status as a Veteran, or when I was active duty."

Air Force Staff Sgt. Matt Saum  Concordance Vice President, Network Infrastructure & Operations
"I am so glad I entered the service. It was an amazing experience that I will remember forever. I was in a secure communications support role, so it wasn’t as glamorous as you might see on television. But my line of work supported all the services in direct support of the “front line.” It was a great feeling to have. I appreciate Concordance taking a look at our employees' direct contributions to our military. As well as our company taking strategic steps in helping our Veterans by providing stellar products and services, that's a great feeling too."
